Alaska Fly Fishing Guide

Fly fishing now, as in my youth, is about freedom.  Before I could drive, a bicycle with a pack and fly rod lashed to the side was all which was required for hours of entertainment.  The spring fed creeks of the Berkshires numbing my bare legs as I would wade in shorts and Tevas was the ultimate adventure and escape in my youth.  Still today it’s quintessentially the same - an escape, mental clarity and release from the reality and day to day stressors of a life in law enforcement.

In my twenties I took my passion for all things fly fishing and became licensed as a guide in New York State.  The technical fishing which I had learned to love and accelerated at, was now even more rewarding when shared with clients and those wanting to learn or experience a different kind of fishing.

My close friend Michael Robb, whom now owns Clarksburg Cider and I made a pact that we would guide in Alaska one time… however once was not enough.  My first summer in the Bristol Bay drainage of Alaska was back in 2004 and I have been traveling to the last frontier ever since, on my own quest to find self, and to help clients do the same while finding large healthy rainbow trout, char, grayling, and the multiple species of salmon.

Alaska is without question my favorite place in the world.  Approximately twenty years has passed since I first found my self in the great state. I still find it a spiritual experience every time I step off a float plane and submerge my self in Alaska’s grandeur.

I spend roughly a month each summer reconnecting with the frontier, clients and healthy fish.  Please consider joining me on a trip.  My good friend Jerry Jacques of Jacques Grizzly Safaris is by far one of the most sought after minds on all things wild in Alaska and together we put together experiences for the angler, the outdoor enthusiast or anyone whom needs an escape from the day to day grind or quarantine life.
